Our Certification Program is a comprehensive program focused on proven strategies and prevention tactics to serve vulnerable victims of human trafficking and sexual exploitation.

Our training for excellence in community and patient care is steeped in the belief that common understanding and tactical training will build more capable and trustworthy service providers and even families to serve victim survivors.

Introduction to Human Trafficking

This is an introductory session to human trafficking, modern-day slavery and sexual exploitation.

Course outline will cover:

  • Basic introduction to human sex trafficking
  • Types of human trafficking – recognition and impact
  • Community effect, roles of community and general public
  • What is being done to help, and what you can do
  • How to invite your community to be part of the solution
  • Town hall community-style meetings, breakfast, or round-table talks
  • Receive helpful community information and suggestions
  • Participatory survey prior to certification being granted

Communication Techniques to Support Victim Survivors with Trauma from Sexual Exploitation

This session focuses on communication using emotional intelligence as related to victim survivor trauma and vicarious family trauma.

Course outline will cover:

  • Trends in community that need to be shared
  • Victim and family experiences to support and de-stigmatize
  • Statistics and information to understand needs of funding
  • Who should offer community support
  • What is needed for more prevention and intervention resources
  • Do’s and don’t of communication
  • Question and answer time

Time: Three (3) hours, delivered as a half-day session

Advanced Practical Approaches for Victim Survivors of Sexual Exploitation

This session focuses on communication using emotional intelligence and trauma awareness as related to victim survivors and families engaged with police, front-line works and service providers.

Course outline will cover:

  • Identifying types of human sex trafficking behaviour presentations
  • Levels of victim response with trauma-induced PTSD
  • Suggested procedures to put victim needs first
  • How to use report analysis statistics
  • Overcoming resource gaps in services creatively
  • Safety levels in harm reduction relative to presenting issues
  • Referrals for family support and coping strategies
  • Identifying responses posing re-entry risks and triggers
  • Steps and procedures to alleviate victim shame
  • Relationship awareness and safety risks
  • Community coordination with team leading and follow-up
  • Specialized requested support advice for you team, agency, station or group
  • How to create human sex trafficking prevention presence within your workplace
